The Live In Peace (L.I.P.) Campaign

As the national spokesperson for The Provider, Inc.’s Live in Peace( L.I.P.) Campaign, Kenji Darby M. Ed.

has embarked on his journey to inspire, advocate and advance economic, educational, health, social & theological development while simultaneously encouraging literacy, strategic and critical thinking, self initiative, self development and self dependency for those in need, the at-risk & less fortunate youth, family and individuals based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, and throughout the world. After the tragic death of Washington Redskins safety, Sean Taylor in the month of November of  2007, Washington Redskin fans all over the world were devastated by the loss. Kenji Darby, M. Ed., equally disturbed and fed up with killings in his hometown of Washington, D.C. decided he could no longer sit back and do nothing. In December of 2007, Darby officially established The Live In Peace (L.I.P.) Campaign. The mission & purpose of the campaign is to inspire, motivate, advocate and advance economic, educational, health, social & theological development while simultaneously encouraging literacy, strategic and critical thinking, self initiative, self development and self dependency for those in need, the at-risk & less fortunate youth, families and individuals based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. Darby fulfills the mission of the campaign by engaging audiences, protégés and students through multimedia publications, marketing communications-outreach programs & projects, classroom style learning, mentoring, lecturing, conferences, seminars & speaking engagements. In addition, Darby also authored the poem titled, “L.I.P. SEAN TAYLOR, L.I.P. WORLD,"

(The Washington Informer, Vol. 44 No. 7 December 6-12, 2007) where he coined the slogan Live in Peace (L.I.P.).

From June 2006 through January 2008, Darby also satisfied a lifetime passion and accomplished a longtime dream as he returned to the football field to help lead Washington D.C.’s Semi-Professional Football Team, D.C. Explosion, win back to back National Championships at the historic Orange Bowl, in Miami Florida on January, 13, 2007,  This game marked the last football game to ever be played at the stadium.  And once again on January 19, 2008 in Hollywood Florida, Darby excelled at four different positions; Fullback, Tight-end, Guard and Offensive Tackle to help lead his team to victory in a Double overtime thriller. As a Freshman in college, Darby walked on at Pennsylvania State University’s D II Basketball McKeesport/Allegheny Team, and as a Senior Darby had an opportunity to walk on the Football Team to play for the historic Nittany Lions, led by Legendary coach Joe Paterno. However that same year, Darby was entering graduate school and was chosen by Penn State’s Prestigious Professional Development School, and made the conscious decision to pursue his education instead.
